When the angel Gabriel told Mary that she would conceive and
bring forth a son by the Holy Ghost, Gabriel also told Mary that her
cousin Elisabeth who had been barren had also conceived a son .....
Luke 1:26 And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from
God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, 27 To a virgin espoused to a
man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name
was Mary. 28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that
art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among
women. 29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast
in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. 30 And the angel
said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. 31
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and
shalt call his name Jesus. 32 He shall be great, and shall be called
the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne
of his father David: 33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for
ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 34 Then said Mary unto
the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel
answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy
thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. 36
And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her
old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
Both a virgin conceiving a child and a barren woman conceiving a child
seem impossible, but Gabriel told Mary that nothing is impossible with
God ...
Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible.
While considering that nothing is impossible with God, I thought of a
few of the things in our lives which seem impossible, but which God has
done.
Each person born again of the Spirit of God is a new creature. We are
different than we were before we were born again. This isn't something
we have tried to do, but that which God does in us. Our desires and
goals change as we are given the desire to please God. And God gives us
the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us in the ways of God. When we
think of the person we once were, it seems impossible that we could have
been changed and continue to be changed into His image, but God does
this ...
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
We continually see God working all things according to His will and
purpose for good to those who love Him and are called by Him. It may
seem we are at a "dead end" of some kind and it looks impossible to move
forward, but then God provides a way which we never imagined. Or we
may be stopped by God in some way from going a certain direction, and
find later that what we wanted would have caused us harm and it was much
better for us to not go that way. Even when it seems impossible for
good to result, God causes all things to work together for good for
those who love and follow Him ...
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to
them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
God provides all our needs whatever they may be. It may seem impossible
that we will have enough money, or help, or fellowship, or wisdom. But
whatever we need, and however impossible it seems for those needs to be
met, God provides everything we need ...
Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
