No one and nothing is equal or comparable to God. It is God who has
created us, caring for us from the womb until the end of our lives.
Whereas idols made by the hands of man must be carried and set in place,
and cannot answer or save any one, God cares for us and delivers us ...
Isaiah 46:3 Hearken unto me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant
of the house of Israel, which are borne by me from the belly, which are
carried from the womb: 4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to
hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will
carry, and will deliver you. 5 To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?
6 They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance, and
hire a goldsmith; and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they
worship. 7 They bear him upon the shoulder, they carry him, and set him
in his place, and he standeth; from his place shall he not remove: yea,
one shall cry unto him, yet can he not answer, nor save him out of his
trouble.
God created all things, knowing from the beginning all that would be
done and the end of all things. His counsel will stand, and He does
according to His pleasure ...
Isaiah 46:8 Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. 9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the
things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will
do all my pleasure:
God is merciful and gracious, forgiving sins and redeeming from destruction those who fear Him ....
Psalm 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his
benefits: 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy
diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee
with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with
good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. 6 The Lord
executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. 7 He
made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. 8
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in
mercy. 9 He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for
ever. 10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us
according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy
toward them that fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so
far hath he removed our transgressions from us. 13 Like as a father
pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear him. 14 For he
knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust. 15 As for man, his
days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. 16 For
the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall
know it no more. 17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to
everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto
children's children; 18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that
remember his commandments to do them.
Only God can do these things.
