Isaiah 28:23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my
speech. 24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break
the clods of his ground? 25 When he hath made plain the face thereof,
doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in
the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their
place? 26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.
27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing
instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but
the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod. 28
Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor
break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.
29 This also cometh forth from the LORD of hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.
God not only created herbs and grains for us to eat, but also has
instructed man how to prepare the soil and plant the seed. And
God also has taught how to prepare each type of harvested plant for
eating ... for example, fitches are beaten out with a staff rather than threshed with a threshing tool.
Thinking about how God has provided the plants as well as instruction in
planting and threshing reminds us that, in each thing
we face, God knows even the smallest details and is able to teach us
what we need to know in a way we can understand.
I was reminded of a time when I was faced with needing to add a major part to a computer application in just one day. I
thought it would take a few months to do the work. But in the night, God gave me information showing how to do this with
just a few lines of code. It took less than an hour to make and test
the changes, and it worked perfectly.
In whatever we face, God knows what instruction we need and is able to teach us in a way we can understand.
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
