Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
Christmas is time of year when many people become sad and depressed. Either they are alone and do not have people with whom to feast and celebrate, or they are worn down preparing to feast and celebrate, or they do not have money to buy the kind of gifts they want to buy, or they go into debt buying things for which they do not have sufficient money.
The first thing we need to understand is this: Christmas was not set up by God. There is no place in Bible where we are told to celebrate Christmas. As I understand the origin of this event it is from the Catholic Church ... thus Christ "mass".
It is simply a fleshly, worldly event set up by man and not set up by God. That is the reason it causes so much trouble for those persons who try to make it into something "special". We, who are of God, can overcome all this.
The things that are really of God are things we "celebrate" each day of our lives and not one day a year.
Here are those things we celebrate daily:
- Jesus Christ died for our sins to make a way for us to come to God.
- Because of the plan of God and the sacrifice of Jesus, we, who belong to God, have the Spirit of God dwelling in us. And the Spirit of God shows us the will of God in the issues pertaining to us as we go through this life. We are not like the world, having to do what is wise in our own eyes. We have the wisdom of God through the gift of the Spirit of God. And the Spirit of God does the following ... teaches us all things, guides us into all truth, reminds us of everything Jesus speaks to us, and shows us things to come.
Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13
- God gave us the new covenant where HE writes his laws in our hearts and in our minds. Heb. 10
- Though we may not be with another human, we are not alone for HIS Spirit dwells in those of us who believe in HIM.
And God says to us:
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. Heb. 13:5
