To rely upon God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

II Chronicles 13:18 ... the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.

We think of the word "relied" as meaning to depend upon ... and that is true ... But we come to depend upon another through experience with that person.  And with God it is the same.  We come to depend upon God through experience with God.  And when we think upon that which God has done in our lives our ability to rely upon HIM increases through faith.

Here is an interesting definition of "rely" in my dictionary ... to bind together ... The original sense was gather together ... to turn to ... to associate with ... whence depend upon with confidence.

The more we think upon God and that which HE has done, the more we should have confidence to depend upon HIM and to turn to HIM.

The reading of the Bible and thinking upon the various scriptures should also cause us to build confidence that we can "rely" upon God.
