πŸ’₯ Jesus says we must worship God in Spirit and in truth. (Jn. 4)

God is a Spirit and we must worship HIM in Spirit and in truth.

We cannot see "a spirit".  We do not have images which can cause us to feel religious.  We do not set up wooden crosses made by hands of men.  We do not worship anything that we can see with our natural eyes.

The apostle Paul says:

I Corinthians 3:16  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

It's not that we go to church.  We are the church.

A building made with human hands is not the church.  The church people who are created by God by HIS Spirit are the church.

In the Bible, the woman at Samaria asked Jesus the following:

John 4

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.

Our God has power and is power.  HE created the heavens and the earth by speaking HIS Word.

Genesis 1:3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Before the heaven and earth were created, God and Jesus were "spirits".  They were together when creation was made.  Jesus was "The Word".  God spake and it was created by The Word.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by HIM; and without HIM  was not any thing made that was made.

(God spoke ... and it was done, created, by The Word.  The creation was made from things that didn't exist.  The Word created the things.)

4 In HIM was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 HE was in the world, and the world was made by HIM, and the world knew HIM not.

11 HE came unto HIS own, and HIS own received HIM not.

12 But as many as received HIM to them gave HE power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on HIS name (The Word):

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

At one point in time, The Word became flesh and dwelt among us as a man,  HE was born of a virgin, the Holy Spirit of God being HIS father.

Matthew 1

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:  25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

But in the beginning Jesus was The Word and was with God.

After Jesus was crucified, God raised Jesus from the dead, and HE, The Word, is seated today at the right hand of God the Father.  Jesus prays to God for us today.

Romans 8: But if the Spirit of HIM that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, HE that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by HIS Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.  14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

34   It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
