Jesus says:
John 14
2 In MY Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by ME.
The Word is the way to go.
God can call a scripture to our mind or God can, by HIS Spirit, give us an instruction. Either of these are The Word from God when God calls such to our attention.
God also leads us by giving us peace. It is not that we try to have peace. We do have peace. So when we try to have peace, we are likely going the wrong direction. Pray. Ask God to help and to show you the way to go and to handle situations that trouble you. And if a person troubles you and continues to trouble you after you pray, that person is a thorn in your flesh. You really need to pray over this asking God what to do. (It is usually best to put that person away from you and don't try to work with that person. Something is wrong.)
Jesus says:
Luke 21
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
If you have the Spirit of God in you, then the Spirit of God will bring to your mind The Word to show you what to do.
If we are troubled, we must have faith that God will help us to see what it is that is troubling us and how to deal with the issue. We must not go forward with a plan or with a person when we are troubled by that plan or person. Know there is another plan for you in this matter. So stop and pray and wait until you're sure you have God's plan and have assurance that this is the way to go.
James 3
15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
