Comments by Joan Boney:
Recently, I heard a man named William Barr interviewed on TV. He was former attorney general of USA during several months of Donald Trump's administration. He resigned in December of 2020.
During the interview, he expressed concern over the choices in 2024. He is Republican.
I could tell it didn't seem to occur to him that you do not have to vote in elections in USA.

Fortunately for us, we are not under threat from government in USA if we do not vote.
As I Christian, I consider myself to be a "stranger and pilgrim" on this present earth, just waiting for the return of Jesus where I expect to be removed and taken to the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.
The apostle Paul tells us to pray for our leaders, but there is nothing in Bible telling us we have to "vote" for a leader.
2 Timothy 2:1-2
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
(I have prayed a few times for both Mr. Trump and for Mr. Biden. But I do not vote for either Republican or Democrats.)

I think many in USA are taught it is "their duty" to vote.
I do not believe this is a view from God but rather from man.
If I voted I would feel responsible for approving that person.
And this could be a bad thing in the sight of God.
2 John
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

These are just a few things from Bible for you to consider.
I do not think anyone could be elected to a public office of governments of men without compromise.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Also we must be careful that we not "hate" the opposing party if we choose to place ourselves in a political party, and thereby fall into sin. It would be difficult to do what Paul said and pray for leaders if you were fighting against the person elected.
There are many things to consider about this matter as a Christian.
I'm just glad they do not force us to vote as they did in Hitler's government. For in those days, they were afraid their government could retaliate against those who voted against Hitler and even put them to death. (I suspect some people reading this live in nations where fear abounds over the subject of political retaliation.)
We at all times should try to do what is right in the sight of God. So we pray, and read the Bible to make decisions as to what we should do as Christians.
