πŸ’₯ Seditions: A work of the flesh

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Seditions:  Conduct or speech inciting others to rise up against or rebel against a country or ruler or monarch; incitement to riot; inflaming to rebellion against laws of nations;

Hatred is also one of the things our flesh is quick to do, left to it's own devices.

But we overcome the desires of our flesh through following the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance

Romans 12

18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

(God will judge.)

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is MINE; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

A few verses of scripture called to my mind on this subject of sedition:

John 18:36  Jesus said   My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is My kingdom not from hence.

Hebrews 11:13  These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.  14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.  16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for HE hath prepared for them a city.

Luke 6:29  Jesus said:  And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

(This is really opposite to what our flesh wants to do.  Our flesh wants to hate and fight.  Jesus shows us another way, the way of the Spirit of God.)

Matthew 22

(The Pharisees came to trap Jesus)

17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye ME, ye hypocrites?

19 Shew ME the tribute money. And they brought unto HIM a penny.

20 And HE saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?

21 They say unto HIM, Caesar's.

Then saith HE unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

Sedition is a work of the flesh.

Paul says:   "that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

We control our flesh, which always seems right to us, by going in the way of the Spirit of God.

God will repay us and them.

God will judge and bring righteous judgment on this earth or in the next earth.

We always win by going in the way of God and by keeping our flesh under the control of the Spirit.

I Corinthians 10:13   There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
