πŸ’₯ Hebrews 11:8-13

8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged HIM faithful who had promised.

12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for HE hath prepared for them a city.

We, who are of God, view this present earth as temporary as we wait for the return of Jesus where HE will take us to the new heaven and new earth wherein dwelleth righteous.

Therefore we don't fight as others fight to hold onto possessions.  For all that we can see with our natural eye is temporary for God will destroy this present heaven and earth after the coming of Jesus.

2 Peter 3

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

(Comments by Joan Boney)  I was thinking about everything we can see being destroyed and I began thinking about "What is our best investment today?" Of course spiritual things are excellent investments which will never fade away or be destroyed.  Taking scripture and doing the instruction is an excellent investment, the best investment we can make.

Paul said:

I Timothy 4

7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

I think we exercise ourselves into godliness when we meditate in the scriptures and do them.

(Natural food is one investment that can benefit us since all other things except scriptures will be destroyed at the end.  Scriptures bring contentment to me and when I eat the right natural foods for me there is is some contentment I suspect. And I love having these exhortations to write to the church!)

We are simply observers on this earth, not involved as the worldly people who fight and strive for possessions.  We are strangers and pilgrims here waiting for the coming of Jesus and the redemption of our own bodies as HE changes us into new spiritual bodies.  (1 Cor. 15:48-51)

And we live "in peace" as we wait, praying over all concerns as the apostle Paul told us to do.

Philippians 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

If you are concerned over anything at the present moment, pray!

Philippians 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
