Jesus speaks to us today by HIS Spirit, guiding us, teaching us, reminding us of that which HE has said and even showing us things to come.
In
the Old Testament, the people had to go to a prophet to hear what God
wanted them to do. But in the New Testament all who belong to God have
been given HIS Spirit to speak to them.
Heb. 1:1-2 God,
who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the
fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by HIS Son, whom HE hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also HE made the worlds;
Each
of us who are of God are sealed with the Holy Spirit of God and the
Holy Spirit of God lives in us to show us the will of God in the issues
pertaining to this present life.
Ephesians 1:13 In WHOM ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in WHOM also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
John 14:26 Jesus says: But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear (from God), that shall he speak: and HE will shew you things to come.
Always share that which the Holy Spirit brings to mind when with other people.
Resist
the fear of offending them but rather submit to that which the Holy
Spirit brings to your mind, sharing that. We don't try to witness but
we are a witness when we speak that given to us by the Holy Spirit of
God.

Matthew 7 Jesus says:
22 Many will say to ME in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in THY name? and in THY name have cast out devils? and in THY name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from ME, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
