Sins after the knowledge of the truth

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

I am aware of multiple church women who say they committed adultery and say that was "before" they were born again.

Is that a sin done in ignorance of the knowledge of the truth?

The answer lies in the following:  Did you try to hide what you were doing from your husband when you committed adultery?

If the woman tried to hide from her husband, that woman knew the truth about what she was doing otherwise she wouldn't have tried to hide.

Gen. 3 ... 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; (now they had knowledge) and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he (Adam) said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And HE (God) said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

(the knowledge of good and evil makes us accountable so when we do wrong, we try to hide)

Before the knowledge of the truth, Adam and Eve were naked but did not know they were naked.

After truth came, they hid because they knew they were naked.

If a woman commits adultery and hides what she is doing she knows the truth, that it is wrong.

Heb. 10 ... 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses 'law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Is there a penalty for the adultery?  There has to be.  They knew it was wrong and willfully did such anyway, knowing it was wrong to do this.  And by doing such they "counted the blood of the covenant an unholy thing ... and have done despite unto the Spirit of grace."

You may want to excuse yourself saying you did this sin before you were born again, but you deceive yourself.

Did you hide while you were committing adultery?  Did you hide this from your husband?

Then you knew it was sin ... hiding is the proof that you knew what you were doing was wrong?

Thus you did this after the knowledge of the truth.  It is different from the sin Paul committed when he was trying to catch Christians that they might be imprisoned and destroyed.  This is a sin done in ignorance.  And Paul wasn't trying to hide.  Paul was openly trying to catch Christians.  Everyone knew this.  Therefore Paul did not know this was wrong.  Paul thought this was the right thing to do.  Paul committed a sin of ignorance, a sin done before the knowledge of the truth.

Adultery is a sin done after the knowledge of the truth.  The woman committing adultery hides.  She knows it is a sin.

==========

In doing this wrong, they sinned against God ...

Joseph knew it would be a sin against God to have sex with Pontifer's wife.

Men of the OT knew it would be a sin to have sex with a married woman.  Though these men had concubines, they knew to take another man's wife would be sin.

The husband became as a covering to the wife.

 Genesis 20:16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver: behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that are with thee, and with all other: thus she was reproved.

Concerning Joseph ...

Gen. 39 ... 7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife:how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

In Hebrews 10, we read ... 28 He that despised Moses 'law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Paul is saying this sin of adultery after the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus is even worse than this sin done in the days of Moses' law.

In the days of "Moses' law", we read the following:

Deut. 22

13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, 14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:16 And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; 17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; 19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel:and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die:because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house:so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman:so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; 24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife:so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her:then the man only that lay with her shall die:26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death:for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found; 29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

30 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.

==========

The law of Moses took very strong actions against sexual sins in order to rid the sin from the nation of Israel.

Today sins hide under the concept of the blood of Christ and by doing so sin reigns in the congregation like a leaven.

Yet Paul says the judgment is even more serious under the NT than it was under the law of Moses.

In the sight of God this is true and God will certainly deal with such sins today.

==========

When we view the scriptures, especially the OT scriptures, we see the vast difference between men and women.

Men had multiple wives in those days.  There is no example I know of in OT where women (other than harlots) had sex with multiple men.

Today women are displayed as being the same as men.  This is not true.  We see in the scriptures the difference.

An ungodly woman is a very terrible thing.  A woman who commits adultery against her husband is an ungodly woman.  And often these ungodly women who do these ungodly acts are sitting in church at the time and/or calling themselves Christians.

When tempted, we cry out to God for help.

They did not cry out to God because they did not want help.
