Leviticus - Part 3 ... Viewing the works of God through scripture
Leviticus 9 ... 23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people:and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the people. 24 And there came a fire out from before the Lord, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat:which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.
NT ... "fire" ...
Luke 3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he (Jesus) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
That fire sent by the WORD is consuming, burning the sin out of our hearts.
Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
==========
Aaron, Moses' brother, was greatly used by God. But two of Aaron's sons sinned ...
Leviticus 10 ... 1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the Lord, which HE commanded them not.
2 And there went out fire from the Lord, and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.
3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the Lord spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. 4 And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. 5 So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said.
Comments by Joan Boney: When a man adds something to the church that man glorifies himself and exalts himself showing himself that he is even smarter, wiser, than God. Characteristics of antichrist: II Thess. 2 ... 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Some of the things added to the church service today: lighting of candles in Catholic church, praying to Mary rather than to God, calling crackers and grape juice "The Lord's Supper" when the Lord's supper is eating and drinking the word of God.
Aaron's two sons, took a censer and made a fire but they added incense ... good smelling ... But God had not commanded the use of incense.
Adding to the things of God is deadly. I've heard pastors do such over and over as they have thought nothing to add their own images to the Word of God, perverting the word of God by their images. They have no respect for God and HIS word when they do this. Also they have no fear of God. They just want to show themselves to be wise, even wiser than God.

6 And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people:but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the Lord hath kindled. 7 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:for the anointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.

8 And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying, 9 Do not drink wine nor strong drink, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die:it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean; 11 And that ye may teach the children of Israel all the statutes which the Lord hath spoken unto them by the hand of Moses.
Beware of trying to make prohibition of wine a doctrine for all ministers ... Remember Paul, an apostle, instructing Timothy, evangelist, as follows ... 1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

There are some things interesting in above scripture in Leviticus ... Aaron's two sons took it upon themselves to do something God did not author. They drew glory to themselves by this. And God killed them, even with fire which is same type of thing they offered.
God says ... I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. Leviticus 10:3
==========
Leviticus 10:10 ... 10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean;
All who belong to God today have the Holy Spirit and we see holy and unholy and clean and unclean and should put a difference between such ...
Romans 12 ... 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world:but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
And God tells us ... "Be ye holy for I am holy ..."
I Peter 1 ... 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
17 And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Leviticus 18 ... 1 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the Lord your God. 3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do:and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do:neither shall ye walk in their ordinances. 4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein:I am the Lord your God. 5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments:which if a man do, he shall live in them:I am the Lord.
