Letter to Juliett Walton

From Joan Boney

Juliett ... Your calling keeps coming forth as you share with us.  It certainly looks like a teacher.  Your love for scripture is obvious.

It is a beginning.

Let nothing pull you away.

Be faithful to God to share everything that stands out to you when you see something no matter how small it seems to be and by doing that sharing you will definitely arrive at place God wants you and you will bless others enroute.

Look at how I've shared today already ...just small bits ... if I had large bits I'd share large bits.

Silas as a prophet ... I read Acts 17 and I thought, "Wasn't Silas a prophet"  ... I remembered reading it a few days ago in one of the Acts chapters ... But I looked it up and found the scripture in Acts.

Is that important.  Definitely.

Paul was traveling with a prophet and an evangelist.  And Paul was apostle and teacher.

That prophet will give a different flavor to the ministry of Paul and a needed flavor.  As a teacher is very valuable to me.  Also evangelist would be valuable to me.  I want all the offices among us.

I'm very different from Paul because I'm apostle/prophet.

Paul was apostle/teacher.

Teacher is very different from prophet.

We need all in our group as every church group needs all.

apostle/prophet/evangelist/pastor/teacher  for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.  Eph. 4

We definitely need what you write.

Love, Joan

==================

Acts 17 ...10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea:who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, and stirred up the people. 14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea:but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.
15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens:and receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.
16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry.

Paul was in Athens, waiting for Silas and Timothy ... Silas was a prophet ... Timothy evangelist

Acts 15 ...32 And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

II Tim 4 ... Paul speaking to Timothy ... 1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
