Mt. 6 ... 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
I
believe we seek "HIS kingdom" and "HIS righteousness" as we look for a
scripture daily (as buried treasure) to meditate that day upon that scripture.
"Seek it" ...
It is a deliberate act made by us ... When you go shopping for something, you make a deliberate act. You go to the "store" ... You hunt for the item ... When you find something that looks right to you, you take it home with you and live with it ...
So it is in hunting a scripture today upon which to meditate.
You might have a scripture stand out to you as you read blog.
You might have scripture brought to your mind by Holy Spirit. (If so stop and look immediately at that scripture.)
You
might have to "dig" that day for a scripture, just keep reading until
something catches your attention then stop and focus on that.
For example:
One day this week, the following caught my attention:
I Cor. 16 ... 13 Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
What does "quit you like men" mean? I had no idea.
Of course I asked God?
Then I decided to see what this verse says in NASB and NIV
NASB: 13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
NIV: 13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
Courage
is going forward firmly fixed in your direction in spite of finding it
frightening. Usually there is some form of "fear" involved in courage.
- facing extreme danger and difficulty without retreating
- endure in difficult times
- firmness/ strength of mind
==========
You might have to dig for a scripture as one would dig for hidden treasure ... looking for a scripture for that moment in time.
It will be there if you dig for it.
===========
I am convinced this is a critical way of life for us daily.
- determination in spite of opposition
Doing that which is right in sight of God even when frightened.
