42 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit are certainly greater than Jonah or Solomon... Any Word given us by the Holy Spirit should be enough to cause repentance. Any Word (Jesus) given by God to us should be repentance to us. God, Jesus the Word, and the Holy Spirit are one.
In today's church, God-Jesus the Word-The Holy Spirit speak directly to us and a single word spoken to us should be enough to bring repentance, guidance, direction
Hebrews 11:1-2 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, WHOM HE hath appointed heir of all things, by WHOM also HE made the worlds;
Psalm 17:8,9
Hebrews 10
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Psalm 119:98 THOU through THY commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.
Proverbs 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good : and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.
Proverbs 8:10-11

The word that God gives us in whatever we are dealing with is wisdom. It is the best way for us to go and keeps us safe from destruction.
As we go in this way, we may look wrong to those who walk in their own wisdom. But sometimes even these people come to see this was the best way for us to go.
Here are two examples I've been reminded of:
-- Some of those I once worked with thought I was wrong to retire when I did. But God strongly led me to retire at that time, when HE gave me the word:
Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction. (Micah 2:10)
A few weeks after I retired, one of the women still working there told me how fortunate I was to no longer be there, for very long work hours were being required to meet unrealistic project timelines. She said they were working under lots of pressure, 7 days a week, but knew that even then, the project deadlines could not be met. (I was very thankful to God to have been spared the terrible pressure they were working in.)
-- When I was diagnosed with high-grade, muscle-invasive bladder cancer, the treatment prescribed by a specialist was chemotherapy followed by bladder removal. I turned strongly to God asking if I might be spared having my bladder removed. An alternative ... chemotherapy with radiation ... came to light and strongly stood out to me. After prayer I came to believe this was the answer from God to my request to be spared bladder removal.
The specialist and other medical people I was dealing with gave many reasons I shouldn't change treatment to chemotherapy with radiation. But God made a way for the treatment plan to be changed.
Three series of tests since treatment ended have found no cancer, and none of the problems warned of by the various medical people happened.
After the third series of tests found no cancer, the doctor who initially referred me to the specialist for bladder removal surgery said that I obviously had made a good choice in not having my bladder removed which would have been life changing.
It isn't that we are wise by our own reasoning. It is by the wisdom (the word) given to us by God that we are able to deal with, and overcome in, whatever we have before us.

The other day my husband and I were talking about the possibility of him driving again after his stroke and eye problems.
As we talked about this, suddenly I was reminded that I had had a dream a while back where he was driving. One way God speaks to us is through dreams so I told my husband about the dream that God had given me.
After I told him, the thought came to me that this dream wasn’t from God because if it had been, I wouldn’t have forgotten it. These attacks from the devil come so quickly and I admit I was momentarily troubled.
But as quickly as this thought had come to me, another thought was given to me by God reminding me that one thing the Holy Spirit does is to bring everything to our remembrance that Jesus(the Word) has said to us.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
I was comforted by being reminded of this.

Hosea 10:12 Sow to
yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground:
for it is time to seek the Lord, til He come and rain righteousness
upon you.
fallow: left unplanted, inactive

10 Receive My instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
