Blessings promised by God

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Deut. 28 ... 1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all HIS commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in HIS ways.

10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Blessed means:  have divine favor and protection

These blessings are for those people who listen carefully to that spoken by the Holy Spirit ... To those who observe what HE is saying, paying significant attention to what we hear and acting in a responsible way, properly applying the word from God in our lives.

We must be very careful about how we read ... and how we hear ... We can deceive ourselves by reading the Bible.  We can think we are OK just because we read the scriptures.  But we can read without actually putting such into our lives, without making what we read a part of our lives.

Recently I awoke thinking of various chapters of the Bible we have printed recently on the blog.  The only thing I could remember is in Phil. 4 ...  9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.  The day that chapter was printed on the blog and I read it and saw verse 9, I stopped and thought about that which I have seen in Paul's examples.  God very much used these examples in my life so show me what HE wanted me to do in the ministry.

For example:  I Cor. 2 shows me how to present the word of God when I speak.  Paul says:  1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.    By this, I saw not to prepare what I would say but to depend on God to show me by HIS Spirit what to say when I turned on the recorder to make radio broadcasts and when I stepped onto a stage before a group of people.  I just spoke those scriptures brought to my mind by the Holy Spirit.  (I do that also when I write these messages.)  I saw that I don't know what people need to hear and to read.  But God knows and HE reveals this to me by HIS Spirit who reminds me of scripture and examples.  So I just share that.

God also showed me something by Paul's following words:  II Tim. 4 ... 14Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: 15Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words.  By this, I saw:  Do not hesitate to warn the church, naming by name those who stand against the Word of God.  This gave me the courage to speak on radio, naming by name various ministers who have misused scriptures for their own benefits and have done various evils before the church.

==========

I decided to go back and read some of the previous Bible chapters presented on the blog and deal with these in a more attentive way,  remembering that James warned:  lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.  James 1

We must slow down and focus on scripture, applying it in our own lives in order to receive that blessing that comes from the Word of God.
