God swears by HIMSELF that HE will not change

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Hebrews 6 ... 11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he (Abraham) obtained the promise.

16 For men verily swear by the greater:and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast,

An oath is a solemn promise, often invoking a divine witness, regarding one's future action or behavior.

So in US court of law, the person says, "I swear by the almighty God that the testimony that I am about to give is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

Notice the oath he swore by was "the almighty God" ... invoking a divine witness to what he was about to say.  This is a very serious matter.  And there is none higher that one could swear by than the almighty God.  And implied is the curse the witness would bring upon himself if he lies to the court.

In the case of Hebrews 6, we read:  13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, 14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

It is impossible for God to lie over the promises (The Word) HE gives to us.  There are two immutable witnesses:  God is a witness and God swears an oath by HIMSELF with HIMSELF as witness.

So we know the promises of God to us are sure and will not change for immutable means:  unchanging over time and unable to be changed.

In Hebrews 6 we read:  Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

We therefore have a strong assurance of the counsel of God ... what God tells us will not change ... And it is true (no lie) ...

It is good for us to see this for it is strength for us to see what God has done when HE promises us something or tells us something.  It will not change.  God swears by HIMSELF so it would be impossible for it to change.

Thus Paul says ...  we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth ... Heb. 6:19

So we read the following promises:

Isaiah 54:17 ...

17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;
and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their righteousness is of Me, saith the Lord.

Heb. 13:5 ...

5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have:for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

And all other statements from God to us are "promises" sworn by a GOD who has the power to perform these statements and will not lie and the statements are immutable (cannot be changed) ...

If we can get this concept we can know the immutability of God's counsel to us.
