Anchor to our soul

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

In Genesis 32, Jacob is returned to his homeland where Esau his brother lives.  The last time Jacob heard of Esau, he was told Esau planned to kill him.  Now God has told Jacob to return to his home where Esau lives.

Jacob sends word ahead to Esau telling him that he is returning.

Esau and 400 of his men come out to meet Jacob.

Jacob is terrified!  And Jacob begins to pray.  The first thing Jacob does is to call to God's attention that it was God who told him to return to the land where Esau lives...

Genesis 32 ... 9 And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the Lord which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands.

11 Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau:for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.

12 And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

In times of trial, it is such great comfort to our souls when we know God has authored that which we are doing.

Can we say, "God has commanded me."  (Joshua 1:9)

This is a critical anchor.  It was God who told me to do this.

For if God authored our work, God will sustain our work that HE authored.
