Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet
We have just read the book of Acts and thrilled, no doubt, over the many acts done by the early church immediately after the resurrection of Jesus and when the Holy Ghost was given with all power to the believer.
The same Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) given to them is given to those who believe in God today.
But the times are very different today.
At the time of the resurrection of Jesus, few had heard of Jesus.
Today, the whole world has heard of Jesus Christ. This shows us much nearer the return of Jesus for the scriptures show us the following. Mt. 24 ...(Jesus says) ... 14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
The early church worked in the heat of the day. The physical persecution was strong upon them. Their sufferings for the sake of the gospel were very different from the suffering we endure today, though there may be still some physical persecution in some areas of this world. For the most part today our sufferings are mental sufferings caused from our own households as we speak truth of God. I consider this to be much easier than the threat the early church had of physical torture, physical beatings and death.
We should see the times and seasons by these things.
