Malachi 3 ... Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. 17And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. 18Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon HIS name ...
When you have a fear of the Lord, you have a "fear" of the WORD for the LORD is the WORD.
And when you think upon HIS name, HIS name is THE WORD ...
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, Jn. 1:14
So THE WORD is JESUS and JESUS is THE WORD.
Therefore a fear of the LORD is a fear of THE WORD that comes to us from the Spirit of God. Each of us who belong to God hear from God by HIS Spirit. If we have a "fear of the LORD" then we will pay close attention to that Word given us by God to be sure we do it correctly and keep on doing it. And this concentration upon that word is "thinking upon HIS name."
