Consumed

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

There are people consumed today by things of this present world.

Consumed means:
- completely used up
- absorb all the attention and energy of someone

Certainly this is what happens often when we involve ourselves in various projects of this world.  We can't think about anything other than that project.  It consumes us.

I was reading in Psalm and the following caught my attention:  Psalm 97 ... A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

Then I was taken to this passage in II Thess. 2 ...Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.  7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

Now they are consumed with themselves and their projects.  But the time shall comes when Jesus will consume them with the Spirit of HIS mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of HIS coming and they will even cast their silver and gold into the streets for all of a sudden it will be worth nothing, as will their consuming works be worth nothing, and they will greatly grieve over all the attention given by them to their worthless works.

In the early 1980's, I had the following dream:  The earth slipped on it's axis.  Politicians, scientists, and religious leaders were meeting to try to see what could be done about this.  A TV newscaster was trying to give a report on the news but he was so terrified over the events he couldn't give the news report.

Jesus said ... Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.  John 6:27

You bring much needless suffering upon yourself when you consume yourself with those things of this present world which do not really have to be done.  Some things have to be taken care of but many things do not have to be taken care of.  Having the wisdom to stay out of traps when things do not have to be done will spare you greatly.

II Peter 3 ... The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?  13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.   15And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
