Volume 7 ... #8
Follow God With Them Who Call on God Out of a Pure Heart

II Cor. 6 ... Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the LIVING God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be MY people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be MY sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

I Jn. 1 ...  God is light, and in HIM is no darkness at all.

Those having a "pure" heart toward God are those who walk in HIS light with no pollution of darkness of this world.

Pure means:

-  not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material
-  wholesome and untainted by immorality
-  perfectly in tune and with a clear tone
-  nothing else added

Having the pure word that comes from God.

When a person who says he is Christian refuses to be ruled by the power of the Word of God as many do, the apostle Paul tells us to depart from them.

II Tim. 3:5 ...Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Few will find the way of life, says Jesus.  Mt. 7

We cannot follow light with darkness.

When I was born again, 1975, my best friend and her husband attended a non-denominational church which taught tongues were of the devil.

But I saw the following scripture:

Paul said ... I Cor. 14:39 ...Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

I left that church immediately.  I showed this scripture to my best friend and she also left that church group.

The scripture has power to rule over me.

By this we show we are of God.  By this also those who deny the power of the scripture to rule show they are antichrist and they deny Jesus, the Word of God.

Depart from them.

After I was born again, I took Bible and read the following scripture to my mother (non-Christian) who enjoyed horoscopes.

Deut. 18 ... When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God. For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

After reading this, my mother said ... "Then I guess we'd better not do that anymore."

I'm sure my mother was born again when she submitted to the power of the scripture to rule over her.

We cannot follow God with a person who says, "Jesus is Lord", but who denies the instruction given by the Holy Scriptures, which are JESUS, the Word of God.

It just won't work.  We will needlessly frustrate ourselves and we are in danger that we will be swept away with them.

Titus 3 ... A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

II Thess. 2 ... And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Just walk away from darkness when you see darkness.

We who are light cannot follow with darkness.

Another example:  In 1985, a contractor in Clovis, NM (USA), who was also a deacon in a Baptist Church tried to get me to have sex with him.

Immediately, I took Bible and read aloud to him the following scripture ...

I Cor. 6 ...  Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body. And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by HIS own power.

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

I learned later that this evil man had also tried to get other women in the church to have sex with him.

It is exceedingly terrible when men who are leaders in the church do such evils.

We must stand up against evil and refuse to participate when evil doers come across our path.

The apostle Paul says ...

I Cor. 5 ... But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth.

Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.
