Volume 6 ... #22
God Is Our Helper

Hebrews 13:5-6 ... Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

We know God helps us with spiritual things ... do we also know that God helps us with secular things on this present earth?

When reading Revelation 12, we see how the devil fought the woman but God helped her.

Revelation 12 ... And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child. And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Many tribulations happen as we go through this present life but unlike the people of the world, we have a "helper" and that Helper is the creator of heaven and earth.

We are children of God.  Will God, Our Father, not help us?

All through the Bible we have promises that God will help us.

I Cor. 10 ... There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Sometimes our problems are physical.  Even in that God has a way to help us to overcome or endure.  We have to cling to HIM, keeping HIM as our hope.

Sometimes the problems of this present life would overwhelm us.  Again, our hope is God.  I've found in various problems that in time God brings to my mind a solution.

Jesus said: These things I have spoken unto you, that IN ME ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jn. 16

There is a solution whereby we can overcome in the problem.

I Jn. 4:4 ...  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world.
