1. I heard an old, old story how a Savior came from glory,
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;
I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning,
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering HE hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
Only Jesus is worthy. Only HIS blood is worthy to buy us and pay for our sins.
I didn't shed any of my blood to pay for my sins. (We cannot pay for sins by our good works.)
But Jesus did shed His blood to pay for my sins and also to pay for your sins.
