Avoiding delusion in today's world

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

In the end times, deception and delusion are rampant.  It is very dangerous to fall into traps where you think something is true and you deeply hold to that as truth when it is not really truth.

In both secular and spiritual matters we need to be diligent to live in truth.

Part of the trap is a fleshly desire to have the best ... This is "pride of life".

We are warned about this in I John 2 ...

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

As strange as it may sound,  I have seen that delusion can come even when we have choices over two products.  Certainly we can be tricked by believing such things as advertising.  But that "love" for getting the best can really be a snare.

Instead we should do the following in making our selections.

James 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

And we need to realize what we think to be "best" may not be the best thing for another person.

It is so dangerous and terrible for us to live in "a pride of life".

When we do this, we might speak foolishly, misleading another person.

I have prayed for God to show me if there is anything I am deceiving myself about ... secular or spiritual.

God is the answer for us and what we believe should be coming from God.

Just beware of pride in things or even in pride in persons.  You might bring delusion upon yourself.

Some people will be deluded by God because they refused to have the love of the truth.  This is really a terrible thing for if God deludes a person, there is likely no way back.

II Thessalonians 2:10-12   And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Therefore we want to be diligent to "love the truth."

I was born again in 1975.  My best friend told me I had to attend church.  So I went with her and her husband to the church they attended.  It was a non-denominational church.  The preachers were from Dallas Theological Seminary.

The doctrine was somewhere between Baptist and Church of Christ.

The preachers were very intellectual.

When I started attended this church, the main speaker was conducting a seminar against tongues.

I didn't even know what a tongue was, nor did I really care.  I just wanted to study Bible.

One day I came across the following scripture:

I Corinthians 14:39    Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Although I had never heard a tongue and didn't care, I did care about the instructions in Bible.  The church I was attending was teaching against tongues and Paul said in Bible forbid not to speak with tongues.

I left that church group.

In 2017, I discovered I was saying something that was not true.  I had purchased a small laptop and I thought it weighted 1 pound.  Then I learned it really weighed 2 1/2 pounds.  Even on this small secular thing, I was horrified. I was living in a form of delusion where this laptop was concerned and I had told people around me something that was not true.  Of course I repented immediately.

Delusion means:  a belief that is strongly maintained but is not true

Small things are important.

Jesus speaks of those who are faithful "in that which is least".

In this scripture, Jesus is speaking of money or secular things, but I'm sure all truth is important and we should not bear a false witness in anything.

Lk. 16:10-11    He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.  If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

Also Jesus warned us:

Matthew 12:33-37    Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Don't we realize we will all have to appear at the judgment seat of Christ and answer for that which we have said and have done on this present earth?

At that time, there will be no second chance.  It is the end.

Therefore, now is our chance to get this corrected and to purpose to live in truth in all things for the remainder of our life on this earth.

II Corinthians 5:9-11    the apostle Paul says ... Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of HIM.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;
