Psalm 37 ... Prayers to God & Promises from God to the Church

1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
and wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord;
and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the Lord;
trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light,
and thy judgment as the noonday.

7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him:
fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath:
fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

9 For evildoers shall be cut off:
but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be:
yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth;
and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 The wicked plotteth against the just,
and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13 The Lord shall laugh at him:
for he seeth that his day is coming.

14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow,
to cast down the poor and needy,
and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart,
and their bows shall be broken.

16 A little that a righteous man hath
is better than the riches of many wicked.

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken:
but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.

18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright:
and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time:
and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 But the wicked shall perish,
and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs:
they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again:
but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth;
and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord:
and he delighteth in HIS way.

24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:
for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old;
yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his seed begging bread.

26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth;
and his seed is blessed.

27 Depart from evil, and do good;
and dwell for evermore.

28 For the Lord loveth judgment,
and forsaketh not his saints;
they are preserved for ever:

but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 The righteous shall inherit the land,
and dwell therein for ever.

30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom,
and his tongue talketh of judgment.

31 The law of his God is in his heart;
none of his steps shall slide.

32 The wicked watcheth the righteous,
and seeketh to slay him.
33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand,
nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 Wait on the Lord, and keep his way,
and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land:
when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35 I have seen the wicked in great power,
and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not:
yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright:
for the end of that man is peace.

38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together:
the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord:
HE is their strength in the time of trouble.

40 And the Lord shall help them,
and deliver them:he shall deliver them from the wicked,
and save them, because they trust in him.

 Psalm 37 ... 37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright:
for the end of that man is peace.

The only way we can have peace is to commit the problem, the trouble, to God in prayer and to wait on HIM, to wait until HE gives us the way.

Therefore the end of the man of God is peace for to get to peace you have to be connected with God and hear the way of God in the issues pertaining to this life and go according to HIS instructions in each matter of life.

The people of this world will never have peace for they will go in that which seems wise in their own eyes, they will compromise, thinking that is peaceful, they will live in secrets and in lies and in hypocrisy thinking that will bring peace and good to themselves, and they will try to please other humans and gain their approval from man.

Psalm 33:4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all HIS works are done in truth.

Most people cannot act in truth.   They see truth as too brutal so they have to twist the truth and therefore they end up following the way of the devil where there is no truth in him for they see the lie as kinder than the truth.

Jeremiah 9 ... 1 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!
2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them!
for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
3 And they bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the Lord.

4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother:
for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.

5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth:
they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the Lord.

7 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them;
for how shall I do for the daughter of my people?

8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.

But the way of God is as follows:

I Jn. 1:5 ... that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all.

James 3 ... 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Psalm 37...
16 A little that a righteous man hath
is better than the riches of many wicked.

The world tries to store up money and things for retirement, not even knowing that they will be on this earth and not knowing what they will need if they are on this earth.

 James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

We, who are of God, live another way.  We believe God will lead us today in what to do today and as we follow God today that is all we need to do.  And if we don't see anything to do today, don't do anything today.  It's not needed.

And we follow this instruction from God ...

I Tim. 6 ... 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil:which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

... 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
