Recently we have had many days of very cold weather and several
inches of snow where I live, which is normal for this area. Then this morning it was sunny for a time. I
looked out the window and was surprised to see several small birds flying around and
perching in a nearby tree. The outside environment is so severe that it seems impossible that these little birds could survive, but they looked very healthy, as though they were even thriving.
Seeing these small
birds caused me to think of God creating these birds in such a way
that they could live outside during the cold snowy
weather and that HE provides everything they need.
While thinking about this, I was reminded of the following ...
Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of
them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30 But the very
hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of
more value than many sparrows.
We face various problems and challenges as we live on this earth. Some
of us live in areas where we don't know any others who are led
by the Holy Spirit. We find ourselves grieved by seeing and hearing
what those around us do. And sometimes we face a form of persecution as we go in the way we are led by the Holy Spirit.
The environment we live in may seem as inhospitable as the cold and snowy outdoors here.
But we are of great value to God and never forgotten by Him. We cry out
to God in our distress, and He knows what we need and how to help us. God provides everything we need to thrive and live in joy and peace.
We have been given the Holy
Spirit to teach and guide us. When we turn to God in prayer, HE hears us. And we are continually watched over and cared for by God.
Our lives are not of things of this world, but our life is of God. We
receive life in us when we receive and go in the way of each word God
gives to us.

God said to Elijah ...
1 Kings 19:18 Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.
