I could not save myself and be around my Church of Christ cousin because her goal was to save me and turn me away from the ministry which I was called by God to execute on this present earth.
John 16:2-3 Jesus says:
They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor ME.
I could not save myself and be around my other cousin either for she loved her cleverness and pulled me down by her words.
Toward the end of her life, she asked me to come see her. And then she said, "It would mean everything to me." And briefly I considered doing this. But then she said, "Our roots are in Broadview where we grew up." I knew all she cared about was past and fleshly things. I did not go where she was living. And a few years later she died. In fact, I never spoke with her again after that statement.
My own salvation is important to me!
The kingdom of God had to be more important to me than anything or anyone.
Matthew 13:44-46 Jesus says:
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

We cannot appease the devil.
We cannot make friendships with devils.

Matthew 13:37-43 Jesus says:
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth HIS angels, and they shall gather out of HIS kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
