When we are born again, God changes us to a new creature. We are not like we once were. We often do not want to do those things we once did. Most of us who have been born again now want to read the Bible.
We also want to be with other Christians who are believers and try to
do the Word of God. We are very different after we are born again.
In the Old Testament, God gave the people this instruction:
Numbers 33:50-53
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near
Jericho, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,
When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan; Then
ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and
destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and
quite pluck down all their high places: And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it.
55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
2 Cor. 6:14-18 Be
ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship
hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light
with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be MY people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be MY sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
