I Abhor Myself!

Job 42 ... When God revealed HIMSELF to Job, it caused Job to see his own self and Job replied to God:

... now mine eye seeth THEE. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

After we are born again and God reveals Himself to us, don't we see ourselves and our own works and are horrified at ourselves

I know this is the way I felt.  And when we recognize our works as sin, we are saved as we repent of ourselves.


The Holy Spirit convinces of us sin ... Jn. 16 ... 

We do not get saved by being approved by people in our sins.  We simply continue in our sins.  But when our sins are revealed to us by the Spirit of God, we are ashamed and changed, born again.

And we no longer continue in those past sins!

Now we are new creations, given the Spirit of God.

John. 8 ... to the woman taken in adultery, Jesus said, "Go ... and sin no more."

The Spirit of God that is now in us refuses the past life of sin and the new Spirit that is now in us does not want to sin ... we are changed!

I Cor. 6:9-11 ... Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?

Be not deceived:neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
