Scoffers concerning the return of Jesus

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

II Peter 3:3   Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,  And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Though we know the day of the Lord is coming, the day when Jesus returns with a "shout" with a loud voice and the dead in Christ rise first and those who are of Christ and are still living are changed and arise to meet Jesus and the newly resurrected in the air , even we can get so caught up in our earthly projects that we can't imagine this actually happening in our life time, but we do know it could happen in our life time.

But there are some scoffers who do not believe it will happen.

They forget the issue of Noah.

II Peter 3:5-7   For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Jesus says HIS coming will be like the days of Noah and Lot.

Luke 17:26-30    And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

After Noah was removed and after Lot was removed, the destruction came upon this earth.

Jesus says it will be the same when HE returns the next time.

I Thessalonians 4:13-16   But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him.

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent
(precede) them which are asleep (dead).

For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Notice we meet "in the air."  This is an important concept.  We do not gather on this present earth.  God has created "new Jerusalem"  for us... "wherein dwelleth righteousness."  II Peter 3

This present heaven and earth will be destroyed at the end of the great tribulation.

*****

After the people of God are removed from this present earth, the wrath of God (the great tribulation) comes upon this earth...  where the vials of the wrath of God are poured out on this earth and on those remaining on this earth.  Revelation 8-16

After all the wrath of God has been poured out on this present earth, then this present heaven and earth will be destroyed by God as follows:

II Peter 3:10-14    But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

*  in peace

We have to deliberately avoid the scoffers and those person who go opposite from godliness.

And we put ourselves among those persons where we can follow God in peace.

Many people have not the teaching from the Bible and their thinking is corrupted by thoughts conjured by their own flesh or by thoughts of religious people which are not right according to Bible.

If we live according to Bible and walk with others who live by Bible we can follow God in peace with those persons.

I've met many pastors who do not understand basics such as prayer and living in peace in faith.  I cannot live in peace with those pastors.

There are certainly many church goers like this.  I cannot live in peace with them either.

I put myself with those who know how to pray, how to trust in God, for they are not going to burden me unnecessarily by telling me their troubles.  They have learned to talk to God about their troubles and trust in God.  Most church goers tell all their troubles to other church people and burden many but they do not trust in God to work things out.

So to "live in peace", I have to restrict myself to others who know how to trust God and how to live in peace.

*****

* without spot and blameless

And we must keep ourselves without spot and blameless.  We do this by heeding that which the Holy Spirit brings to our mind.

II Timothy 1:14    That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.

(We go along in this life and if we are about to go in a wrong way, thinking wrong things, the Holy Spirit reminds us of what God has said about the matter giving us a chance to go in right way.  Thereby we "keep ourselves" by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.)

The apostle Peter tells us to be diligent to be found by Jesus "in peace, without spot and blameless."

We do not know exactly when Jesus will come.  No man knows this.

Therefore we must diligently keep ourselves daily in peace, without spot and blameless, by settling everything with God when the problem surfaces.
