Prayer

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Another matter:  Jesus said ...

John 17    I have manifested Thy name unto the men which thou gavest Me out of the world: Thine they were, and Thou gavest them Me; and they have kept Thy word.

7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever Thou hast given Me are of Thee.

8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from Thee, and they have believed that thou didst send Me.

9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which Thou hast given Me; for they are Thine.

You think you need people to pray for you?

YOU pray.

People learn to not have faith in God by all their many prayer requests.

YOU pray.  If you are of God, God hears you.

It is nonsense to ask all these people to pray for you.  It is lack of faith.

Learn now to pray having faith in God.

You pray!

That is enough!

Philippians 4:6    Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

(Some of you are letting your requests be made known unto humans.  This is a wrong way to go.  You end up putting your trust in that human and also you burden that human needlessly.  If you have faith in God, put your trust in God.  Let God know your requests.  Trust God.  If you are praying according to the will of God for you, God hears you and will grant what you ask.  It is really between you and God.)

I John 5:14-15    And this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS will, HE heareth us:

And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM.

Requests ... tell God what you want HIM to do for you.

It is helpful to write down each request.

Be specific

*****

Here is an example of letting your requests be made known unto God.

I had a project at my house.  They were resetting my sound equipment.

Here is a list of requests which I let be known unto God.

Request to God:  (What do I want God to do for me.)

Sound Wave project on Monday: April 2018     To make room ready for new TV

* Please have them do the work as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
* Please supervise Patrick and give him an heart to check out sound equipment and fine tune each component.
* Please show Patrick the best location for amplifier.
* Please check and clean all cables and interconnects.
* Please work through correct speaker distances.
* Please put in Patrick's heart the best quality interconnect if we have to replace due to distance.
* Please supervise all workers and the exact order of sequence for project
* Please cause everything to go well
 * Please perfect this for me.

After praying these "requests", I had no troubling thoughts at all concerning the work that was to be done the following Monday.

And when they finished, the sound was better than I ever recall it being.

Many who say they are Christian make many "prayer requests" to other humans, because they have no faith God will hear themselves, but they think God might hear other people.

Learn to pray in faith.

YOU pray.

(And if you pray, in faith, you know you have that which you ask God, according to the will of God for you.  So you no longer go about telling other humans "your needs" for you know God will provide your requests when you pray according to the will of God.)

One gimmick ministers use to get your money is by saying:

"Send me your prayer requests."

They know a vast number of church people think God will answer the prayer of that minister and the minister is using prayer requests to try to get money from you.  It is a form of extortion and false hope that God will answer the minister's prayer where you think God will not answer your prayer.  This is unscriptural.

I have never done that.  I do not want you to send me your prayer requests.  You should learn to have faith in God to pray your own prayers.

Robert Tilton told his radio/TV audience to send him their prayer requests.  When their letters with their prayer requests came into his address, they were forwarded unopened to a bank in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where workers at that bank opened the letters, took out money, deposited any money, and threw the "prayer request" into the garbage.

Fundraising scandal:  ABC News:  Primetime Live (see Wikipedia:  Robert Tilton)

In 1991, Diane Sawyer and ABC News conducted an investigation of Tilton (as well as two other Dallas-area televangelists, W.V. Grant and Larry Lea).

The investigation, broadcast on ABC's Primetime Live on November 21, 1991, told that Tilton's ministry threw away prayer requests without reading them, keeping only the accompanying money or valuables sent to the ministry by viewers, garnering his ministry an estimated US $80 million a year.

Don't be so foolish.

Instead YOU pray.

Abstain from faith in humans.

Develop faith in God.
