Praying to God in faith

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Some church people, even pastors, run to you telling you their needs.

Do you do that when you have a need?

Do you tell people in the church your needs hoping one of them can either provide your need or pray and get God to give you what you want?

If this is what you are doing, you need to learn another way.

*****

First, the apostle Paul told us the following in Bible.

Philippians 4:19   But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Peter said:

I Peter 5:6-7    Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE may exalt you in due time:  Casting all your care upon HIM; for HE careth for you.

And Jesus said:

Matthew 6

Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on
. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

(We find we are able to "take no thought for tomorrow" by praying over tomorrow, by faith that
God will help us and show us what we should do about our concerns, if anything.  So we learn to pray over tomorrow and act on today.  At the time I'm writing this, I can tell you that I have no dread about tomorrow, no concern about tomorrow, for when a concern about tomorrow tries to come into my mind, I stop and begin talking to God immediately about that concern and then the concern is gone... if you fail to stop and pray, you will have that concern about tomorrow build inside you.)

If you believe in God, all you need to do is to tell God your concerns and talk with God about your needs.

Paul says:  Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

If you belong to God, all you have to do is discuss the matter with God, and in faith in God let your "requests" be made known to God.

Tell God what it is you want HIM to do for you.

If it is the will of God for you in the matter at hand, it will be done for you.

I John 5:14-15    And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us:

And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

Even before God provides your need, you have it when it is according to God's will for you.  If you have it after praying, why would you go about telling other people that you have a need?

To do this would be to deny God and to deny what the scriptures tell you.

After you pray, there might be some things you need to do such as changing your direction.  The Holy Spirit brings to our mind what we need to do in the matter when we need to make a change in our life.

For example:  You may have your heart set on a certain job.  You pray to get that job.  But God might have another direction for you.  So by HIS Spirit, HE will direct your attention another way.  The job you are wanting, might not be the best way for you to go.  But there will be another way to go and God will show you that way when you belong to him.

Therefore:   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.   James 1:5

We recognize the ideas that are from God by understanding the wisdom that is from God.

We know the wisdom that is from God by the following:

James 3:17    But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

If something you are pursuing is very expensive and would be hard to do and very complex, you do not have God's plan.

You will find God's wisdom is simple, not hard to do, not complex.

So by knowing that, when something comes along that is going to be very costly, you can know it is not God's way for you to go.  There is another way.  Back off that plan and pray, asking God to show you want to do and wait until you see that way.

*****

When you turn to other people, telling them your needs, you cast your care on the other person and burden the other person.

Don't do that!

Instead do that which Peter said to do:

Casting all your care upon HIM; for HE careth for you.

If you tell other people what you need, you show you don't believe God answers that prayer you prayed.

And by telling other people what you need,  denies God and denies many scripture, such as:

"The Lord is my shepherd:  I shall not want."

By telling others "your need", you are testifying:  "God does not supply my need."

So don't do that.

When we are immature as a Christian and don't have faith in God, we might have done that, but when we learn the ways of God, we do not cast our care on other people.

We learn to trust God, committing our cares to God.
