I was instructed by God to write this email concerning the work of a prophet in the NT church today.
*****
First, we have to establish that there are prophets in the ministry today in the NT church.
Ephesians 4
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
(It is very important to understand these "gifts" were given after Jesus ascended, after the crucifixion and resurrection.)
11-12 And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
If you attend a church group where they say there are no apostles and no prophets in NT church today, you need to leave that church group because they are opposed to scripture in their saying, and are antichrist in the church. (opposite to the scripture)
*****
apostles: have special anointing from God to deal with scripture and church doctrine
prophets: bring correction to the church, sometimes showing things to come

Prophets doing work of a prophet in NT Bible
* John the Baptist ... went to Herod the king and told Herod it was not lawful for him to have his brother's wife, adultery.
Matthew 14 ...
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.
For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her.
(As a prophet of God, John the Baptist corrected Herod the king.)
And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.
And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her.
And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

* Agabus ... Acts 11:27-29
And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch. (prophets: multiple prophets)
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

* Agabus ... Acts 21:10-11
And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.
And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

New Testament prophets do many of the same things OT prophets did.
Here is the basic commission from God to a prophet Ezekiel.
Ezekiel 1:28
1-2 And HE said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
And the spirit entered into me when HE spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard HIM that spake unto me.
And the spirit entered into me when HE spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard HIM that spake unto me.
3-4 And HE said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against ME: they and their fathers have transgressed against ME, even unto this very day.
For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.
For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD.
6-7 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
And thou shalt speak MY words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.
And thou shalt speak MY words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.
Ezekiel 3
4 And HE said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with MY words unto them.
(OT prophets were sent to the House of Israel. NT prophets are sent to the church.)
5-7 For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel;
Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee.
But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto ME: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted.
8-9 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
17-19 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at MY mouth, and give them warning from ME.
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.
(JB I was warned by God using this scripture in 1978-79 when God was training me for the work. The apostle Paul also talked about he would be responsible for their blood if he failed to warn them.)
Acts 20:26-27 Paul says:
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
Ezekiel 3:24-27
Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them:
And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house.
(There are times God will not allow us to speak to the rebellious.)
But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
Jeremiah 1:4-10
Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
Then the LORD put forth His hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put MY words in thy mouth.
See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.

Comments by Joan Boney
I was born again in 1975.
Shortly after that, I was asleep in the night. God transported me into heaven. I was with God, with the Holy Spirit, and with Jesus. (I saw no images.) It was an experience in the Spirit.
At that time, I was merged into the body of Jesus... made one with the Word of God ... God and Holy Spirit witnessing.
A few days later, the exact same thing happened again in the night as I was asleep.
At the time, I didn't know what it meant. Later when I saw I was ordained as both apostle and prophet, I felt this happened the two times I was taken into heaven.
Later I heard a man speak a word as follows: When God is going to use a person in a very strong way, often that person has a very unusual experience with God.
Then a woman had a word over me that God was going to use me mightily and I would have to stay very close to God.

Jeremiah 1:16-17;19
And I will utter MY judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken ME, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
... And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
Jeremiah 2
8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew ME not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
11 Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but MY people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
13 For MY people have committed two evils; they have forsaken ME the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
21-22 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before ME, saith the Lord GOD.
22 For though thou wash thee with nitre, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before ME, saith the Lord GOD.
Be sure to read all these scriptures carefully!
