Scripture: Shared by body of Christ

Matthew 11:28-30 ... Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Exhortation:  Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Humans put many burdens on us.  We put many unnecessary burdens on ourselves.

But when we seek the way of God on the issue and turn to Bible and seek the will of God, so often that needless burden is revealed to us and we find we do not have to do that.

A woman in our church group had been playing bridge.  She was fretting over the burden of bridge in her life.  As she was leaving her house to go to bridge, she heard, "You don't have to go there." (Holy Spirit)  She quit bridge.

A man in our church group was considering building a second storage building to store his "stuff".  As he considered this, he heard:  "Why don't you just get rid of the stuff?"  (Holy Spirit)

God's way is often so simple.

Jesus said HE is meek and lowly in heart ... He wasn't trying to be someone great.  HIS goal was simply to do the will of God.

Being important is such a terrible burden.  And it is so temporary.

Our flesh wants to be important and will drive us to be important.

But we have power over our flesh by the Spirit of God.  We can go the way of God instead of going the way of our flesh.

Paul instructs:  Phil. 2 ...  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant (servant of God), and was made in the likeness of men: 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

And when we are being tempted, God makes a way of escape for us.

I Cor. 10:13 ... There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
