Psalm 32:2

Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

The way of a woman is often a way of guile and deceit, to get what she wants.

The woman from the time of Eve was in the deception.  Adam was not deceived but Eve was deceived.  And she often uses deceit on others, especially on men.  It is her way.

Therefore Paul said:

1 Timothy 2   In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Women often practice guile.  Godly women do not have to be full of guile.  But even in the churches, women practice guile.  I've often seen them do this.

Proverbs 31:10  Who can find a virtuous woman?

I'm fortunate ... My aunt was a godly woman, (I have seen this), and she was even taken into heaven once ... and my mother suffered great loss as a younger woman didn't seem to want anything.  I believe she was afraid it would be taken from her and she eventually was born again in her late 70's.

Guile is truly a terrible thing:  sly or cunning intelligence; deviousness: showing a skillful use of underhanded tactics to achieve goals:

Recently I wanted to find out something about a man and I was shocked at how fast a women in our church group told me how I could do this.  It was completely devious, not straightforward at all, full of dishonest pretense.  Sad to me.  This same woman tried to practice guile with me and I told her, "Don't try that with me.  I know you don't care a thing about this subject and don't try to con me like you do men."

Proverbs 31 describes a completely different type of woman:

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
(She is not a weak helpless woman.  She considered a field and bought it!  She is a strong woman, able to deal with wisdom and succeed and everyone in her household benefits from what she does.)

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.  (My aunt did that all the time.  I have a good example in this.  And my aunt was very strong.)

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.  (She clothes her household with good.)

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.  (See how strong she is and she deals well as she "sells" merchandise.)

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

(Who can find a woman like this?  I've only seen a few in my lifetime.  Church women often use this writing of Solomon as their goal but they often fail because the evil is in their heart and they fail to go to God for HIM to cleanse their heart over and over, keeping the evil out.  It is God who creates this godly woman ... not the letter of the law.)

Ephesians 6:10-20

10 Finally, my brethren, BE STRONG IN THE LORD, AND IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.

11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15. And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16. Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

19. And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

20. For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

Isaiah 45
1 Thus saith the LORD to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
4 For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.
5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
6 That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
8 Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness: let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together; I the LORD have created it.

My husband is an elected township supervisor that votes along with 2 others to appoint jobs. Our son is part of the road crew and he has been fulfilling the role of the road foreman for roughly 9 months. In the meantime, there has been one supervisor that ended his term and a new one elected. The one that ended his term and my husband were like minded in many ways. It takes 2 supervisor votes to enact changes. The road foreman job was posted several months ago and our son applied, however the new supervisors were not comfortable appointing our son. They voted to repost the position and interview all applicants. Our son was very discouraged because he has been doing the job because nobody else would. He reapplied and interviewed for the new posting.

During this time there was much uncertainty about his job and the new supervisors. My husband and son did not know that they could work with the new supervisors. Our son was fearful that he would loose his job.

I began to pray. I heard the above scripture over and over. I shared this with my husband and son. In the meantime, the new supervisors and our son have had the opportunity to get to know each other. They have worked together for a couple of months now. If one supervisor voted for our son and one voted against our son, my husband would be the tie breaking vote. No one wanted it to come to that.

Last night the meeting to appoint the road foreman occurred. Both the new supervisors voted for our son. My husband was able to abstain from voting. We are very happy that God has made the crooked path straight!

Isaiah 55:7   Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and HE will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for HE will abundantly pardon.

8 For MY thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways MY ways, saith the Lord.

9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are MY ways higher than your ways, and MY thoughts than your thoughts.

1 Corinthians 13:12-13  For now we see through a glass darkly; but then face to face; now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, then these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

On the podcast Joan shared about having necklaces in her business that would get tangled and be very hard to untangle if you worked at it. But there was a way to flip them and they would easily come untangled. How it is like that with God. We might try to work on it and not be better, but God can easily straighten it out.

I remember that she shared that many years ago, saying that if we have overwhelming problems, even if it’s because of something that we did that was wrong, God can straighten it out, that He has a way of getting us from point A to point B. This spoke directly to what I was going through at the time for I had brought problems with my daughter because of what I did. I don’t remember the specifics but the situation did work out. And it had been so comforting for me to hear what Joan had spoken about this and how God can do just one thing or give us one bit of information and it all clears up.
