* That by which we live.

Psalm 16

5 I have set the LORD always before me: because HE is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

The "Lord" is The Word.

We set "The Word" before us always.

We go forward "in the name of the Lord", in The Word, which is the name of the Lord.

John 1

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him (The Word); and without Him (The Word) was not any thing made that was made.

4 In Him (The Word) was life; and the life (The Word) was the light of men.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

***

The Word was in the beginning.  The Word came in the form of a man and was on earth briefly.  The Word is in heaven now where he looks after us and guides us and teaches us and rules over us and keeps us safe as we live temporarily on this present earth.

We set The Word before us daily by prayer, by scripture, by following that shown us by the Spirit.

***

I begin my day by The Word.  I end my day by The Word.  And throughout the day my path is set by the Word.

On the TV and by worldly people, I hear things contrary to The Word, but because of The Word, I can reject those things.

Life is The Word and we live by The Word every day.

We set The Word always before us and HE, The Word, will be our guide even unto death.

Psalm 105

43 And HE (The Word) brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness:

45 That they might observe HIS statutes, and keep HIS laws. Praise ye the LORD.

Proverbs 2

6 For the LORD (The Word) giveth wisdom: out of HIS mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

7 HE (The Word) layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: HE (The Word) is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8 HE (The Word) keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of HIS saints.

Proverbs 9:6

Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

Psalm 119:105

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

***

We have set the Lord (The Word) before us.

Some people awaken in the mornings and turn on the TV immediately to see what is happening, catering to the flesh, feeding their own flesh with things of the flesh of man.  And at night before going to bed, some like to read accounts of the news of the day.

We have to understand how we are catering to the flesh when we do this thing and we trouble ourselves needlessly by their stories, or we plant seeds that end up taking us in ways of evil later.  Some end up desiring more money when they hear the reports of lottery.  Yet we know God will care for us and which of us would want to trade the care of God for sums of money.  It is foolish.  But these are traps we fall into because we have this flesh that is caught up in the fleshly things of this world when we allow the flesh to overcome the Spirit that is in us.

But this world will be destroyed by God because of its ways.

We should deliberately set before us day and night The Word of God for that is our life now and forever.
