The Holy Spirit of God teaches us all things, reminds us of all The Word has said to us, guides us into all truth, and shows us things to come. (John 14:26 & John 16:13)
When we hear the Spirit of God as HE brings information to our mind, and we do that instruction, walking in the Spirit, we free ourselves from that which the flesh would have us to do. For we can't go both ways. If we obey the flesh, we deny the instruction of the Spirit. And when we walk in the way of the Spirit, we keep the flesh crucified by the word of God.
The flesh is never good.
The apostle Paul said: For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: (Romans 7:18)
Galatians 5:19-21
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft (superstitions), hatred, variance (to vary), emulations (to try to beat other people), wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Jesus says:
Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
If we overcome the flesh by doing that instructed by the Spirit, we will not be cast away with those who disobey the Word. If we allow our flesh to rule, our name could be blotted out of the book of life.
Is there anything more important than our soul?
Jesus warns us concerning the last days:
Matthew 24:12-13 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
I believe Jesus is telling us that at the end times, the love of many for the Word of God will wax cold because of the iniquity that abounds around them.

Here is the truth about sin.
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
When we were born again, we were then enlightened to the truth concerning various sins. The sacrifice for our sins was Jesus, who paid for our sins.
But then what happens if we turn from the truth of God and repeat our past sins?
The apostle Peter says:
II Peter 3
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Hebrews 6
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

In the area of temptation, it is good to keep specific scripture before us day and night which deal with the type of sin in which we are tempted. And of course, we call on God for help. And if we are reminded of a scripture or a dream or a concept of godliness, keep that before you also. I also write out dreams to strengthen me.
We fight with the weapons given us by God.
Romans 6:10-13 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Our weapons:
* truth from The Word given us by God
* righteousness: doing that which is right in the sight of God ... doing that which God tells us to do.
* peace: making peace through prayer a way of life
* faith: keeping in mind that which God has said to us by HIS Spirit in scripture, dreams, concepts. Living in those instructions and continuing to live in HIS Word
.
* salvation: thinking on the way of God by the Word of God as given to us by the Spirit of God
* prayer: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Phil. 4:6)

Be warned: We live in a very dangerous time. We approach the end just before Jesus returns when the wickedness of this world abounds and antichrist lives in the churches of men.
The bombs of sin are all around us, trying to draw us into a way opposite to the way of God.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Men are filled with violence, just as they were in the days of Noah before God destroyed the people of this earth with water.
Another sign of the coming end is the rise of homosexuals as in the day of Lot before God destroyed Sodom. Also in Sodom homosexuality was "approved" just as it is being openly approved today in many nations.
Concerning the end of this world, Jesus says:
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

With the coming of Jesus and the wrath of God, the great tribulation, there will be one major difference from the destruction of the people in the days of Noah and in the days of Sodom. The next time, the earth will be completely destroyed.
II Peter 3
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

Most people want to live today thinking everything is just fine.
I am sent by God to warn you and to urge you to wake up and to stay awake and keep yourself by prayer and by keeping the Word of God before you day and night, for as Paul told us would happen, we are living right now in "perilous times".
II Timothy 3
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together (gather with those who have the Spirit of God and are led by the Spirit of God), as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
(exhort means: urge earnestly by advice and warning)
We are told to exhort one another "even more" as we see the day of the Lord approaching.
