The ones in church who do not have the Spirit of God are always trying to copy those who do have the Spirit of God, trying to be right in the sight of God without having the Spirit of God but by doing works that they think to be right in the sight of God.

It is like Esau copying Jacob:

Genesis 28

6 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;

7 And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram;

8 And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father;

9 Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

(Isaac was the son of the promise to Abraham but Ishmael was the son of the flesh of Abraham.  Esau was not going to please his parents by choosing a wife of Ishmael but he tried to copy that which he saw his brother Jacob do.)

People in churches by the flesh, who have not the Spirit are  always a little off, for the Holy Spirit of God is not leading them. but they are trying to please God by their own fleshly thinking.

And they end up twisting the messages of God because they do not have the Spirit of God in them to lead them and to guide them.  They try to understand things of God with their mind.

I Corinthians 2:14   But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Jude

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers (copiers) in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Neither do these people delight themselves in the Word.

When I try to share what God has done, they go dead, cold to things I am telling them.  Often they silently stare at me, showing no emotion at all.  They are just waiting for me to finishing talking so we can go on to something exciting, like a TV show.

People like this at churches, do not delight in things of God.

Psalm 1

1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in His law doth he meditate day and night.

(When we delight in the Word of God we meditate in that Word day and night.)

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Paul says:  They are:  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (II Timothy 3:7)

Paul also says concerning such:  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.  (II Timothy 3:5)

Walk away from them.
