* The great tribulation

Joan Boney ... apostle and prophet
of Jesus Christ
according to Ephesians 4:11-12.

*****

At the end of this world, God sends the wrath of God, the great tribulation, upon this world, to judge the wickedness of this world.

We can identify those things God will send by the scriptures in Revelation 8-16.

And we can know these things are things only God could do.

We have witnessed men doing many evils, but at the end, the wrath of God will be tribulation that only God could send:  great earthquakes, great hail storms, lightning burning up the trees and grass, stars falling from heaven, the sun going dark and failing to shine at the appointed time for sun to shine, and such.

Since only God can do these things, man cannot stop them.

It will be a time unlike any other time before, and it ends with the destruction of this heaven and this earth.

II Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

We know some of the elect of God will be on this earth at the time of the great tribulation because of the following words of Jesus.

Matthew 24

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

And Jesus says:

Luke 21

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (over indulgence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.

35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Watch yourselves.

Pray always over that which you are planning to do.

Pray always over any concerns that you have.

Don't allow troubles to pile up in your heart.  Pray each time you are troubled.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The only way we can live in peace is by settling all our cares with God in prayer.

II Peter 3:14   Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

No man knows the day or the hour Jesus will return, therefore we must be diligent to live in peace, without spot and blameless every day of our lives on this earth.

Examples of the events coming:

* Revelation 8:6-7   And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Revelation 8:8-9   And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

*  Revelation 8:10-11  And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;  And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

*  Revelation 8:12  And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13 And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

(Troubles sent by God during the great tribulation are listed in Revelation, Chapters 8-16)

At one point there is an enormous heat from the sun and it scorches men on this earth and men desire to die and cannot die.

Another plague features a type of locust which stings like a scorpion and continues on this earth for five months hurting those men who have taken on the mark of the beast.

Another event, is a terrible darkness which is so bad men can feel that darkness, no light from sun or moon or stars.

Fourteen plagues and woes strike the earth during these years, one after another.

An old testament prophet described it as follows:

Amos 5:18-20

Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.

19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.

20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?

(One trouble after another, to the end when the heavens and the earth are destroyed by fire.  II Peter 3:10-12)
