Examples in Bible of both ways of life and ways of death.

Joan Boney ... apostle/prophet

Deuteronomy 30:19   I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

***

Judges 18:7    ...  how they dwelt careless ... and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing;

9-10    Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.

When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure (they have no idea they are about to be swept away), and to a large land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of any thing that is in the earth.

***

God had given the people of Israel the land set before them.  They just had to go in and possess this land.

v. 27   came unto Laish, unto a people that were at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire.

We, today, who belong to God are ordained to peace and good fruits of the spirit of God.  But we, too, must take that land.  We keep our own flesh crucified and we have many battles with our flesh along the way of this present life.  We fight our flesh with the weapons given us by the Spirit of God and we thereby overcome our flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21   Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

II Corinthians 10:3-5    For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Thoughts that are negative and fearful come into our minds.  But we take each of these thoughts that would harm us captive to bring them in line with that which we have heard from God through the Bible and the Spirit of God.

Thus we overcome by the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.

But we certainly do battle ... most days of our lives.

There was a woman who  came among us who did not want to do battle.  When she would win a battle she wanted no more battle.  And she tried to have it her way, living carelessly, absorbed in TV programs, especially programs where man was shown to be "good".

This woman was swept away from the church and us.

We must recognize we live in a war zone though we dwell in peace with God.  The enemy is around us and will destroy us if we let him do so.

Therefore we stay alert as a good soldier, though we rest in God.

And we fight with real weapons of God, striking a sure blow to the enemy by that word which God gives us by HIS Spirit.

We remain in goodness of God by our fight against the enemies of the Word of God.

Jude vv. 3-7    Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

(Our contending for the faith is usually a fighting with contrary thoughts which would draw us away from godliness and cause us to go in the way of this present world.  When these thoughts come, we must diligently stop what we are doing and turn to God in prayer, asking God for help.  Then we keep before us that word which God gives us during that battle.)

4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. 5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, HE hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

***

So if we refuse to fight we will be swept away by seducing spirits and by doctrines of devils.
