When seeking a church group to attend

The most important thing to establish, when seeking a church group to attend, is what is their doctrine.

The following questions will show you the truth about this group.

* What is the doctrine concerning a divorced woman remarrying?

The Bible says the following:

Matthew 5:32    Jesus says:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: 

I Corinthians 7:10-11    And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Most church groups today reason away such scriptures saying things like "it's under the blood", meaning Jesus has removed all sin.

This is twisted.

Jesus removed sin but did not give freedom to sin.

Jesus said to the woman taken in adultery, "Go and sin no more."  John 8

Do you allow man to marry divorced woman?

Matthew 5:32    Jesus says:  Whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Do you consider drunkenness to be a sin or a disease?  

Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

What do you do in the church when a "brother" is a drunkard ... or fornicator?

I Corinthians 5:11, 13   But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat...  Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

What is your doctrine concerning homosexuals and lesbians?

Romans 1:26-28    For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

In an attempt to support homosexuals and lesbians, people often say, "but they were born that way."  
That is not what Bible teaches.  Bible teaches homosexuals and lesbians chose to go "against nature" and God turned them over to a reprobate mind, a mind without HIS judgment.  Romans 1


I Corinthians 6:9-10    Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

How can we attend a church group when they go a way opposite from the doctrine of Christ in the Bible?

They are the apostasy when they fall away from scripture and teach another doctrine.

Most people just follow friends and family to the church they attend without questioning the doctrine of that church group.  This ought not to be.  If we are born again, we should seriously consider doctrine and when a church is teaching another doctrine, we should avoid that church group, seeing the apostasy in such.

For in the end times, apostasy will be evident in the church groups.

II Thessalonians 2:3-7    NASB    Let no one in any way deceive you, for it (the day of the LORD) will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

The restraint keeping antichrist out of the church group is the scripture.  When scripture (even a portion of scripture) is removed then antichrist moves into the church group and the falling away from scripture (the apostasy) takes place in that church group.

II Thessalonians 2 in KJV calls this apostasy "the falling away." 

Church groups will fall away from scripture and set up another doctrine.

We cannot join such groups as this. 

Therefore we must consider the doctrine professed in that church group before we attend that church group.  Few consider doctrine when they go to a church group.
