Podcast: Speaking and acting from an honest and pure heart

The wisdom that is from above is first pure.  (James 3:17)   then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Here is what I think this means:

We cannot live in dishonest feelings and feigned words which we do not believe or feel.  First we must be honest in our hearts.

We live in Christ serving HIM as HE wills, not trying to be something we are not.

I've seen people who want to be more, who want to be like someone else but they are not called to be more.  And when that happens their heart becomes contaminated by their own desire.

A good heart is there to serve God as HE wills.

Sometimes people are influenced by devils and don't even know it.  Devils whisper words into their minds.  And when devils work, evil comes.

The wisdom that is from above is first "pure", coming from a good heart that is in us.

When we live in peace with God, we probably aren't thinking much about ourselves.

At our best we are joyful in God in our heart and at peace.

We must learn to keep our heart honest and pure.  If there is any envy of another person or strife we know there is confusion and every evil work.  (James 3:16)

When I am at peace, total peace, doing my own assignment, purity of heart is working in me.  It is wonderful.

Other people, even church people, sometimes provoke us with their words and works.  We must learn to take those matters to God in prayer rather than to try to make the church person feel good about what he has done.  For to try to make him feel good about a work he does that is not authored by God will cause us to partake of his evil work.  We become dishonest when we try to make him feel good about something that is not good and when in our own hearts we really do not see his work as being good.

But above all we must learn to take troublesome matters to God in prayer, pouring out our heart to God.

Learn to feel:  "I can talk to God about this."

Then when the matter is settled and God shows me to do something, I do that, basically keeping order in the church and in my own life.

If I allow myself to get off, then I know I can pray asking God to forgive me and to create in me a clean heart and to renew a right spirit within me.  (Psalm 51:10)

We must not wrest situations to our own destruction by our own reasonings.  Instead we ask God for HIS wisdom on the matter at hand.

We just turn to God asking HIM to fix us.  We trust in HIS working in us.

And live in honesty one with another.  (Speaking no feigned words.)

And be joyful and live in peace.

Matthew 12  (Jesus says)

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Proverbs 4

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

24 Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

25 Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
