πŸ’₯ Answers to questions asked on yesterday's blog. (Prove all things. 1 Thess. 5:21)

Questions:

Two questions:

1.  On  2-22-23, a major winter storm of ice/snow has struck upper 1/2 of USA.  Could that be one of the end time plagues?

No Looking at the 14 end time plagues listed in Revelation 8, 9, 16, you will see none of the 14 plagues are ice and snow related.

In 2004, a TV movie named, "The Day After Tomorrow," showed scientists who had predicted a storm that was coming to the earth because of errors people had made in climate control.

None of the 14 end time plagues are caused by humans but are all sent by God.

2. February, 2023, a massive earthquake killed 48,000 people in Turkey and Syria.  Could that be one of the end time plagues?

*  An earthquake could be one of what Jesus called, "The beginning of sorrows."  (These are sent by God and show us a prelude to the 14 plagues of The Great Tribulations.

Matthew 24  (Jesus says)

6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

(Also consider the following scriptures concerning earthquakes.)

* Revelation 11:13  And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

But in this earthquake, 7,000 were slain.  The 2023 earthquake in Turkey and Syria reported 48,000 slain as of February 22, 2023.

* Revelation 16:18  And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

But the Turkey/Syria earthquake the current report is 48,000 slain.  In the Revelation 16:18 earthquake it will be the largest earthquake ever seen upon the earth.  This shows us it is yet to come.

(When you compare scripture with current events, you must look very closely and see if the facts support the hypothesis.  Also you must compare scripture with scripture.)

* Revelation 6:12  And I beheld when HE had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Since we have not seen the sun become as black as sackcloth of hair nor the moon become as blood, this scripture pertains to that which is to come in the future.

* Revelation 8:5  And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

The next verse shows us this was an earthquake that came before The Great Tribulation:  And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.  (Revelation 8:6)

So the Turkey/Syria earthquake could still be "The beginning of sorrows" as stated in Matthew 24:7-8 ... but not an earthquake of The Great Tribulation.

* Acts 16:26  And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.

You have to look at Acts 16 to see the setting of this earthquake.  This earthquake was sent by God during the time of imprisonment of Paul and Silas.  5 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.  This could not be the earthquake of Turkey/Syria in 2023.

Matthew 28:2  And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

This earthquake came at the tomb of Jesus.  Therefore this earthquake happened before the earthquake of Turkey/Syria of 2023.

Revelation 11:19  And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in HIS temple the ark of HIS testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

You have to look at this in context of the entire chapter.

Revelation 11  (This is the time of the 2 prophets which were killed by the people who had the mark of the beast.)

11 And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

11 And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

(God raised these 2 prophets from the dead.)

14 The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

This shows this earthquake was at the time of the "second woe", so it would be the 13th plague, just before the complete pouring out of the wrath of God upon this earth, which is the end of this earth.  So this could not be the earthquake that we saw strike Turkey/Syria in February 2023.

When you look carefully at each scripture concerning earthquakes in the New Testament Bible, you see the Turkey/Syria earthquake likely pertains to Jesus' words concerning the "Beginning of Sorrows" which comes just before the 14 plagues of The Great Tribulation.

We prove all things by comparing scriptures of the NT Bible with other scriptures.

The beginning of sorrows:

Matthew 24  (Jesus says)

7 (Wars) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences (Coronavirus of 2020), and earthquakes (Turkey/Syria 2023 and other earthquakes), in divers places.

8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

(I believe WW 2 is one of those "Beginning of sorrows" wars.)

You might say, "But WWII was 80 years ago."

Time in the sight of God is not the same as time in the sight of humans.  Humans would say Jesus was crucified 2000 years ago.

Peter says, 2 Peter 3:8-9   But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning HIS promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

One thing we can be sure of.  We will recognize that we are in the Great Tribulation when the sun goes dark in the middle of the day and the moon fails to shine at night.

Revelation 8:12  And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
