Podcast: Salvation is through our believing what God says to us

When I think of my own salvation ... God spoke to me and said:  "Joan, you know those mistakes you've been making all these years.  Those weren't mistakes.  Those were sins."

With that word I was born again.  God spoke to me and showed me sins.

Salvation is of God.  What God did!

Jesus shows us an example of salvation being from God:

Matthew 16

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

(Peter heard from God.  It was God who showed this truth to Peter.  Salvation is from God, from hearing from God.)

18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

(The rock is God speaking to the individual.  The gates of hell shall never overcome that word which God spoke to us.)

Salvation came to the apostle Paul when Jesus spoke to Paul.

Acts 9

1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he (Paul) said, Who art thou, Lord?

And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?

And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Salvation comes when God speaks to us and when God opens our ears to hear!

Salvation is of God by HIS will.  It is God who chooses us to be saved.

Romans 8:1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

We wait for the Holy Spirit to speak showing us what to do.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
