* Proverbs 9: Multiplication of days and increase in years of your life.

Proverbs 9

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11 For by ME thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.

The people of this world greatly desire longer life, but they try to do it by diet and exercise while they often are committing fornication and greedily stealing in business dealings!

For us, our lives are lengthened by the "fear of the Lord", by obeying that Word given to us by God.
... and by knowledge of "the Holy", choosing to do the scriptures.

We purchased a new car recently and it made a roaring sound upon acceleration.  I was starting to "fret", which leads to despondency and complaining, which hurts all who are around you.

Knowing how God hates murmuring, complaining (Exodus 16), I stopped the way I was beginning to go and I prayed the following, and I meant that which I prayed:

"God ... please lead us to someone who can fix the car, or cause me not to care any more about the roaring sound."

I know God can do this.  God is always turning my heart another way on issues that pertain to this present life.

Either way, I know I turned and went in the right way because of my knowledge of God.

Exodus 16

And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt.

2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:

(murmured:  complained)

3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

(They thought about the past and it was a distorted view for they forgot how the Egyptians made them kill the male children when they gave birth.  They forgot how God delivered them from this.  Often memories of the past are distorted.  Paul says to go forward, forgetting those things of the past and to press forward in the things of Christ.  Philippians 3:13-14   Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. )

8 And Moses said (to those who complained about food), This shall be, when the Lord shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the Lord heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against Him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.

(For it was God who delivered them from the Egyptians and it was God who was leading them through the wilderness, not Moses.  Therefore they murmured against God.)

9 And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the Lord: for HE hath heard your murmurings.

11 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,

12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God.

13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.

14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground.

15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the Lord hath given you to eat.

This is the "bread" God has chosen for you.  Rejoice and be glad.  God has given you wonderful things to enjoy.  Be glad and thankful to God.  Turn your life around through prayer and thanksgiving.

Philippians 4:6   Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
