* Turned over to a reprobate mind.

Paul says:

II Corinthians 13

5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

God speaks of "reprobate" in the following scripture.

Romans 1

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

A reprobate mind is a mind without the judgment of God.

The Holy Spirit of Jesus who lives in us reminds us of that which Jesus has said.  If we reject that way in order to go in a way that we prefer in the matter at hand, that would be an example of a person who "did not like to retain God in their knowledge."

This would put a person in danger of being turned over by God to a reprobate mind.

And if the person kept doing this, turning from that which God says, to do their own will, it might be God would turn that person over to a reprobate mind.

The rejection of the way shown by the Holy Spirit would be to reject the Holy Spirit and God.  If this became the way of the human, that person fails to keep God in their knowledge, and that person could be turned over to a reprobate mind.

Our main goal on this earth should be to do the will of God in the matters with which we deal.

The Holy Spirit shows us the will of God by bringing to our mind scriptures and concepts when we are making decisions concerning what to do.

If we reject those ideas from the Holy Spirit and go another way, we exalt our own preferences above the way shown us by God.  This can be deadly for us.
