* Matthew 16: Jesus warns, Beware of the doctrines.

From the time Jesus walked on this earth men were trying to bring the children of God doctrines which were not of God.

Jesus warned His disciples:

Matthew 16

6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

12 Then understood they how that HE (Jesus) bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Then Jesus was crucified and resurrected and after HE was resurrected HE set up the New Testament church.

Ephesians 4:8;11-12

Wherefore HE (Jesus) saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

And HE (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

Jesus set up the following ministries for the New Testament churches:  apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, and almost immediately men came into the churches to change these anointed ministries and to set up their own versions of what they thought ministries should be for the churches.  Thus we have all these denominations today and varieties of ministers in those churches: pope, arch-bishops, cardinals, vicars, and such.  But the only ministries ordained by Jesus were apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers.

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

And immediately men in those churches began trying to change doctrine from the Bible, to their own way of thinking and all these denominations began.

We can see by the following scripture how concerned Paul was about "the doctrines".  

Paul warned Timothy:

I Timothy

2  Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.

3  As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,


4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

Paul spoke to the elders of the church at Ephesus and warned them as follows:

Acts 20

28  Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which HE hath purchased with HIS own blood.

29  For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

(thus denominations set up by men and not by Jesus)

The apostle John also spoke of many antichrists who came into their churches.  But these "antichrists" left these churches when these church held fast to doctrines of Christ.


I John

18  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19  They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
 

These antichrist of John's day couldn't take over while John was present.  Neither could they take over while Paul was with them.  But after the lives of John and Paul, the antichrists could arise and persuade other men to follow their antichrist doctrine and to set up churches by doctrine of antichrist.  Thus all these denominations began.

Today in the churches we reach the fullness of antichrist which precedes the coming of Jesus.

They explained away various doctrines of Christ which the New Testament Bible presents.

They set up doctrines in their own churches which are contrary to the following doctrines of the NT Bible.

* Matthew 5:32  Jesus said:  But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

- The man who divorces a "faithful" wife will be the cause of her committing adultery when she remarries.  
- The "faithful" wife will commit adultery if she remarries after divorce.
- The man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.

I Corinthians 7:10-11  Paul says:  And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from [her] husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Romans 7:1-3   1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?

2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to [her] husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of [her] husband.

3 So then if, while [her] husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Many churches teach that we no longer go by "the law" ... We no longer go by "the Law of Moses" where animals are sacrificed for our sins.  But we do go by "the law of God" set forth for us in the New Testament Bible, and we will be judged by those scriptures at the judgment seat of Christ in the end of this world.

* Romans 1:26-27  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

* I Corinthians 6

9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

I Corinthians 6  (At the time of sexual intercourse, the two become one flesh, even if the sex is with an harlot, a prostitute.)

15  Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16  What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE (God), shall be one flesh.


18  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Titus 1  Concerning elder/bishop:

For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

6  If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.


(Churches today often violate these rules with elders/bishops, even allowing men who are not married to be "bishops" in their churches...  elder and bishop are the same thing.)

7  For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;

8  But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

9  Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

10  For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:

11  Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.

An elder or bishop must be husband of one wife and must have faithful children, demonstrating his ability to rule over his own family.

I attended Word of Faith where Robert Tilton was pastor in a church in Dallas in late 1970's.  We had an elder at that church who was a divorced man and not married.  This completely violated all teachings in the Bible concerning an elder.  This was antichrist in the church.

The New Testament church must go by rules set forth for the church in the New Testament Bible, otherwise it is antichrist, opposite to Jesus, The Word.

We, who are of God, must flee those antichrist churches.

II Timothy 3

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

(Verse 5 shows us Paul is speaking of the dangers inside the churches in the last days.)

6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

9  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

10  But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

11  Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

12  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned (from the Holy Spirit of God) and hast been assured of, knowing of Whom thou hast learned.

15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I Corinthians  3

1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2  I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3  For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

4  For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

One says, "I'm Methodist" ... "I'm Baptist" ... carnal ... dividing the body of Christ.

For there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one doctrine of Christ, one God, one Holy Spirit of Jesus.  

And yet we have all these divisions and differences of doctrine.

That tells us that antichrist is at work in the churches to bring all these different "interpretations".

When we hear from God, and speak that, we have one doctrine and it is from God.

I Corinthians 2:14

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Those who bring other spirits into the churches set up "another Jesus", another doctrine.

Jude

17  But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18  How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19  These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
