πŸ’₯ An anchor for faith is that word we receive from God in the issue at hand.

When we turn to God in prayer and ask HIM for wisdom HE will give us wisdom when we ask in faith believing what God brings to our mind by HIS Holy Spirit.

James 1:5-6  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.

Some people will pray, asking God what to do, and God even brings to their minds an idea showing what to do, and then they "waver" letting devils say, "Maybe I'd better not do that."

So then cannot enter in to the good thing God would give them because their faith in God wavers.

James 5:7-8  For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.  8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Numbers 15

They went to search out the land that God was giving them.  It was a good land and they were excited but then they saw the giants who lived in that land and they doubted they would be able to overcome those giants.  Is not God able to overcome giants?

So if you waver after praying for wisdom and you start listening to thoughts sent by devils such as:  "But how can God get the wisdom to me?" You waver in faith in God's ability.

We might say to ourselves, "I don't know HOW but I know God can get the wisdom to me."

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

When I pray for wisdom ... I know God will get that wisdom to me on the matter.

His plan will be simple, easy, and I will be sent forth with peace, joy, and excitement.

Dread and fear are devils.

When we hunt a scripture to justify ourselves in that which we are doing, it may not be God's plan for us but our own plan and desire.

Rather than hunt a scripture "to stand on", I like to calmly wait to hear what God would say to me.  I can trust in that word that comes down to me from God.

This is where many people in the "faith movement churches" make a dangerous error.

Example:

A young married couple announced to the church that God had called them to go to Israel to minister.  They quit their secular jobs and went to Israel.  They were back in Dallas at church in about a week.
"What happened? we all wanted to know.

They said it was impossible to minister because they didn't know the language.

Such things as this really hurt faith in God.  The problem is their action was not anchored on a word they heard from God.

Jesus said:

John 5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear (from God), I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

The word or concept brought to us by the Holy Spirit is that Word from God.

I John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

The devil brought some ideas to Jesus but Jesus knew these thoughts were from devils and not from God the Father so Jesus did not follow that which the devil said.

Matthew 4

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit (of God) into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

(It was the Spirit of God leading Jesus into the wilderness where Jesus would be tested by devils.)

2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

(Usually we are tempted at point of need or desire.)

4 But HE answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

(Jesus refused to be led by devil even when it met a need.)

5 Then the devil taketh HIM up into the holy city, and setteth HIM on a pinnacle of the temple,

(Jesus knew this was a devil speaking and HE did not follow devils.)

6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and HIM only shalt thou serve.

11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto HIM.

πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

That Word that comes to our mind can be from God by the Holy Spirit.

Or it can be from devils trying to go opposite to the way of God.

Or it can be from our own desire.

Pray when in doubt.  Let God establish whether it is from HIM.  And when you are sure it is God, follow it immediately with all your heart.

Characteristics of God:

James 3

14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. 16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.  18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Matthew 11:28-30  (Jesus says)  Come unto ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  29 Take MY yoke upon you, and learn of ME; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For MY yoke is easy, and MY burden is light.
